color.
Grooming
Borzoi require
regular combing and brushing.
History
The Borzoi was very
popular with the Russian nobility before the first world war. Borzoi
were kept primarily for hunting wolves and as a status symbol.
Positives
The Borzoi is a
smart, field savvy dog that was originally bred for hunting in Russia.
He is an excellent field companion.
Negatives
Because the Borzoi
has been developed to think for itself, it does require a particular
type of obedience training, focused on positive reinforcement.
Borzoi do not respond well to discipline,
as they are extremely sensitive and inclined to sulk for weeks from a
raised voice or a raised hand. Thus only positive training can be used
for them. By using this approach you will find they are extremely
compliant.
